Those Days That Finally Start

You know those days that you think will never kick off? Your younger brother unsuccessfully tries to wake you up at 12, you crawl out of bed at 2, and you're planning on spending the rest of the day vegetating anyway. You're itching for something to happen, yet at the same time you're too lazy to roll off your stomach. You don't brush your teeth. You don't put your contacts on. You might not even want to get dressed and you'll wait until 7 PM to even hop in a shower. You start to feel like your day's bound to inevitable waste. Then it usually turns around somehow.

I don't know if you ever get that feeling. But if you're like me you do get it occasionally and you most likely hate it. To me, it itches as bad as if hell's landed on earth. Today was one of those days and the idleness was starting to get to me, but I was eventually able to pull off a psychological turnaround.

So much of life is dictated by attitude. The qualities of life are majorly affected by the manner in which we perceive them. What we allow into our minds is always the determining quality of our mindset. Well, to rephrase that, you should give everything a chance but actively process what you observe. Discard the meaningless negativity, embrace and adopt the positivity, cherish  the fascinating, forget the boring, and love the wonders this life presents. Enjoy the surrounding denizens. Make music. Hook up with God. Find a way to permanently store away the memories you make. Hey, if you're a loser like me you might even start a journal. Whatever you do, find a way to make it valuable. I guarantee it truly does pay off.

(By the way, this entry was pretty hard to find music to go with. I went from Beastie Boys to the Baroque and Classical era, nothing fit quite right, but it'll be funny to look back on this entry's shift in tone and know why.)
